Aaron Vang has been a School Counselor since 2016 and a Guidance Learning Specialist since March 2019. He graduated from Edison High School in 2008, received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in School Counseling option K-12 along with a PPS credential from California State University, Fresno.

Mr. Adrian Martinez Alvarez will be starting his first year as a GLS at Sanger High. He received his Master鈥檚 degree in Social Work and P.P.S Credential from Fresno State. He also completed the Administrative Services Credential program at Fresno State. Mr. Martinez Alvarez has twenty years of experience as a counselor. He oversees summer school scheduling, co-coordinates the master schedule, and is the contact for NCAA at Sanger High.

Alisha Sandoval has been a Guidance and Learning Specialist at Sanger High School since November of 2006. Mrs. Sandoval graduated from Sanger High School in 1997 and is a proud Apache. She received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Liberal Studies and Master鈥檚 of Science degree in Educational Counseling Student Services, and Pupil Personnel Services credential from Fresno State. Mrs. Sandoval鈥檚 duties include: SAT/ACT coordinator, Sanger High Registration, School Site Council, and Junior Parent Night.

Mr. Andrew Penner was previously a University Admissions Counselor for five years. Mr. Penner graduated Fresno High School in 2010, received his Associates Degree in Disaster Management, Bachelors Degree in Social Work, and his Masters Degree and PPS Credential from Fresno Pacific University. His duties include: 504 Coordinator, PBIS, and Website Lead.

Hua Mai Rusca started her first year as a GIS at Sanger High in the 2024-25 school year. Prior to that, Mrs. Rusca was a school counselor here at Sanger High providing social and emotional counseling for our students since 2021. Mrs. Rusca received her bachelor's degree in Business Management, Master's degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling along with a PPS credential from California State University of Fresno. Mrs. Rusca's duties include: Restorative justice practices.

Manny Herrera has been a GIS since 2018 but has been working at Sanger High since 2015. Mr. Herrera graduated from Sanger High School in 2012 and decided to come right back. He attended California State University, Fresno and received both his Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Psychology (2016) and Master鈥檚 of Science degree in School Counseling with Pupil Personnel Services credential (2018). Mr. Herrera鈥檚 duties include: College Applications, Financial Aid, Senior Handbook, College & Career Exploration, etc.

Maritza Ponce has been a Counselor since 2015 and a Guidance Learning Specialist at Sanger High School since August of 2022. Mrs. Ponce graduated from Sanger High School in 2009 and is a proud Apache. She received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Psychology and Master鈥檚 of Science degree in K- 12 School Counseling, along with the Pupil Personnel Services credential from California State University, Fresno in 2015. Mrs. Ponce's duties include: Master Schedule and The Course of Study Handbook.

Rosie Gonzalez has been a Guidance Learning Specialist at Sanger High School since 2005. She graduated from Orosi High School, and she received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Fresno State and received her Master's degree in Education Counseling and Student Services from Fresno State. Other duties that Mrs. Gonzalez oversees include Scholarships, Scholarship Awards Night, ELC, Block S, and ELAC.

Sherry Satterberg has been a Guidance Learning Specialist at Sanger High since August of 2014. She began working for Sanger Unified in 1992 and has worked at the elementary, middle school and high school level. She graduated from McLane High School in Fresno, received her Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Psychology, Master鈥檚 Degree in Counseling, Pupil Personnel Services Credential and Administrative Credential from Fresno State. She also oversees the Block S Awards and 8th grade Registration.

Vong Moua has been a Guidance Learning Specialist at Sanger High School since August of 2007. He graduated from Merced High School in 1992, received his Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Spanish and a minor in Psychology from Humboldt State University, and gained his Master鈥檚 in Education Counseling and Student Services at California State University, Fresno. Other duties that Mr. Moua oversees include Master Schedule, College Reps, Reg-to-Go, and AP Testing Coordinator.
